When it was announced months ago that the Warner Bros. Discovery merger has been finalized, fans of the DC Extended Universe were given renewed hope that the newly established conglomerate will mean great things for the franchise moving forward.
Reports also claim that President and CEO David Zaslav is very much committed to restructuring the DCEU and his first order of business was axing the upcoming Batgirl film. Apart from that, Zaslav also reportedly ordered projects like Black Adam and The Flash to do a series of reshoots in an attempt to connect the universe and perhaps make it more cohesive.
Well, it looks like Zaslav and company aren't finished with the massive DCEU shake-up. According to a scoop from The Hollywood Reporter, following the cancelation of Batgirl, WB Discovery is also experiencing cold feet with projects like Supergirl, Green Lantern Corps, Static Shock, and JJ Abrams' Superman reboot. While nothing has been officially confirmed yet, the chances of the said projects getting axed from the studio's DCEU slate seem to be extremely likely.

While this isn't exactly an indication that Henry Cavill will finally make his return as the Man of Steel, the potential cancelation of Abrams' project will definitely please a lot of fans. In case you didn't know, initial reports claim that the said reboot would have featured a black Superman and will completely ignore the existence of Kal-El in the franchise.
Meanwhile, DC's Black Adam is slated for theatrical release on October 21, 2022.
