Invincible from Walking Dead Creator Robert Kirkman Releases First Trailer

With The Boys being one of the most successful shows on Amazon Prime Video, the streaming service is set to bring audiences one more R-rated superhero property in the form of Robert Kirkman's Invincible. Just in, we have the first trailer for the series and it stars Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead) and J.K. Simmons (Spider-Man).

Here's the official description:

INVINCIBLE is an adult animated superhero series that revolves around 17-year-old Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun), who's just like every other guy his age — except his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons). But as Mark develops powers of his own, he discovers his father's legacy may not be as heroic as it seems.

Back in 2017, the property was actually supposed to be a film from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, but plans didn't push through and Amazon instead decided to turn it into an animated series. If anything, this seems to be the right direction, seeing that The Boys already has a handle on R-Rated superheroes and there are even plans for a spinoff based on young superheroes.

On the surface, Invincible actually looks a lot like a WB Animated film, and the aesthetic is even close to Young Justice, but I'm sure the property will set itself apart when it comes to story. With The Walking Dead set to end next year, it's great that another Kirkman property is making its way out for the fans.

Invincible is set to come to Amazon Prime Video sometime in 2021.
