Warner Bros. Video Reveals a Harley Quinn Roller Derby Scene for Birds of Prey Movie

While we have yet to see an official Birds of Prey trailer - sorry, Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) trailer - there is a new video from the folks at Warner Bros. that teases a scene from the film. As the title of this article implies, it's a roller derby scene featuring Harley Quinn, showing that the New 52 and Rebirth run of the anti-hero from Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti will be a major influence.

The video can be seen below, which is WarnerMedia's report on their diversity and inclusion program. Birds of Prey basically hits two birds with one stone since it's directed by a woman who just happens to be Asian. You could argue that this is cheap marketing to please the liberal audience but that's not always a bad thing, especially if it means more people get jobs and new opportunities.

Now, let's talk about Harley Quinn's outfit. It's similar to what the character wore in her New 52 series, complete with pigtails, though the colors are obviously different. That isn't a major issue and we're all looking forward to how this scene plays out, though it will likely lead to Harley beating someone up.

I mean, why else would you watch a movie featuring Harley Quinn?

Despite the lack of information, this is looking to be a solid movie that could continue the upward momentum that the DCEU has been on lately. Shazam gained a ton of praise from critics, while Aquaman got okay scores and made a ton of money. If Birds of Prey can be a decent combination of the two, things will be good for Warner Bros.

Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) is coming out on February 7, 2020.
