Vivy continues to be the anime series to beat this season!

Vivy starts a brand-new story arc, this episode jumping forward another five years. Over the last half-decade, since Matsumoto last appeared, Diva has grown closer to appearing on the main stage at NiaLand but before that can happen, another mission falls in her lap that she now feels compelled to accept to alter the future before disaster can befall the humans who come to watch her perform.

In the new mission, Diva learns that history has changed drastically since the space hotel incident, but danger still lurks around the corner. Because of the hotel event, an AI island has been formed way ahead of when it was originally set to open, which is too advanced for humanity. Diva's mission is to infiltrate the island and shut it down.

Visually, there is nothing this season that even comes close to Vivy. Wit Studio has gone all out with this series, and it shows in every episode. In this episode in particular, however, the boat scene stands out as one of the most beautiful in recent history. There is one moment when the perspective is a close-up of Diva's face with water splashing on it and it's simply jaw-dropping how amazing it looks. There's no comparison to anything else this season or really anything else from the recent past.

Not only are the visuals amazing, however, but the story has been incredibly compelling as well. With a story that has successfully (so far at least) traversed time without missing a beat between story arcs, Vivy continues to be just the most interesting series of the season. Add in the fact that this is an original story that no one can spoil for anyone else, and you have a real winner!
