Vincent D'onofrio Admits Talking to Charlie Cox about Kingpin and Daredevil's Return

Marvel fans are having a blast now that Kingpin and Daredevil are officially back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, it looks like Vincent D'onofrio and Charlie Cox had known about Wilson Fisk and Matt Murdock's return for some time now. The Hawkeye star has just admitted that he and the Spider-Man: No Way Home actor called each other as soon as they found out about their characters' comeback!

Kingpin's return happened in the fifth and sixth episodes of Hawkeye while Murdock had a cameo in the third Spider-Man movie. Although there had been speculations that both characters will eventually show up in the MCU, it was all only confirmed this December.

Not surprisingly, Vincent D'onofrio and Charlie Cox already knew a long time ago about Kingpin and Daredevil's return but since they couldn't gush about it to the public, they chose to call each other to discuss their comebacks.

"Charlie and I are friends, but we don’t really talk about Marvel stuff together because we know about all of the complications with reveals and stuff like that and what we’re contracted to say and not say. But as soon as Kevin revealed the fact that Charlie was going to participate, Charlie called me immediately and we had a huge conversation about it, which didn’t include anything about Hawkeye," D'onofrio told The Hollywood Reporter.

That's not the only conversation the two had about their comebacks. D'onofrio confessed that he recently contacted Cox about Hawkeye.

"When they showed the phone shot of Kingpin in [last week’s] episode of Hawkeye, I immediately called Charlie and we had another two-hour conversation," he said with a laugh. "So we are friends and we do talk about this stuff, but we do it very carefully and in an appropriate way."

It's great to have a friend who also has a major MCU secret to keep and we're glad that D'onofrio and Cox have each other. But what are the chances that Fisk will face off against Murdock again in the future? That hasn't been confirmed yet but we're hoping to get an update soon.

All episodes of Hawkeye are now streaming on Disney+. Spider-Man: No Way Home is still screening in theaters worldwide.
