The Flash Film Villains May Have Possibly Been Revealed

Though the movie had been in development hell for years, The Flash was finally set to start shooting this month before production was halted by the Coronavirus. WB hasn't given us an official synopsis yet, but we possibly have an idea of who the villains of the movie will be this time around.

According to Fandomwire, The Flash is said to feature two villains—Reverse Flash and Mirror Master. The source has debunked rumors that Reverse-Flash was going to be a woman, but they did say that Mirror Master a.k.a. Sam Scudder will be the gender-bent character; what's more, the film is looking at Jessica Chastain for the part.

While it's rumored that the film will be taking inspiration from The Flashpoint Paradox, I can see how these two villains can make an appearance in the film. If anything, maybe one of them is just a smaller, supporting role with one being the main villain—much like how Spider-Man: Homecoming dealt with its multiple rogues.

If anything, I always thought that Flashpoint doesn't really have a ‘main' villain, and is more of just Flash dealing with the consequences of meddling with time. I personally think that's a more interesting take rather than having Flash deal with an external force who is against him somehow.

Then again, these are all just rumors for now, so until we get an official update, take it with a grain of salt.

Ideally, everyone wants things to be back to normal by June, but even then we don't know what production schedules are going to look like. Honestly, I just want to get this Flash movie done because it has been too long.

The Flash is slated for a release on July 1, 2022.
