Sony Pictures has been trying to get the ball rolling with its own Spider-Man franchise for close to a decade now but it wasn't until Venom got released in 2018 that they would crack the code and finally figured out to create their own superhero franchise. While the first film received mixed reactions from fans and critics, its box office performance was more than enough to convince the studio to greenlight a sequel which finally hits theaters later this year.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage hits cinemas on September 24, 2021.
