Uma Thurman on Suspicion and Working With Tarantino Again

Golden Globe Award winner Uma Thurman talks about her role in Apple TV+’s Suspicion, a mystery drama that follows Thurma’s Newman as the lead role, who is seeking justice for her son after being kidnapped.

The actress is back as an influential CEO who lost her son in HBO TV+’s Suspicion, a remake of the Israeli hit series False Flag. Thurman is joined by Kunal Nayyar, Elizabeth Henstridge, Georgina Campbell, Elyes Gabel, Tom Rhys Harries, Noah Emmerich, and Geran Howell. The plot of the film tackles mystery and thriller as a group of people was framed for Newman’s son kidnapping incident.

In an interview by Fox5, Thurman discussed the writing and the plot of the film:

"My head was spinning. I think that as they developed the scripts, there were a lot of different directions in which they could have gone. Looking at characters having good and bad intentions. Any character could kind of go in any direction. I think that was part of the sort of dramatic tension that Rob Williams (showrunner) was using."

Thurman is widely known for her role in Quentin Tarantino’s best-selling films as Mia Wallace in 1994’s Pulp Fiction and as The Bride in Quentin Tarantino’s classic hit Kill Bill, which starred her for 2 franchises. While recently, Tarantino just confirmed that he will be doing a tenth film and final film.

Given the fan-favorite collaborations of Thurman and Tarantino, Fox5 asked if she is willing to work again with the veteran director.

"I have no idea how to answer that question. I don't know even what his 10th film is going to be. All I know is he's always said he's only going to make 10. But then when I have heard from him, it doesn't include if he does television. I think he has a lot of room to move. I think sequels don't count in his 10 film number. So if there ever even were another "Kill Bill" installment, I don't think it would even necessarily count as the 10th film."

When Tarantino was asked if he is willing to develop Kill Bill 3 at Rome Film Festival, the director responded with “Why not?” But seems like Tarantino is more focused on developing a comedy film and described it “It’s not like my next movie. It’s a piece of something else that I’m thinking about doing — and I’m not going to describe what it is,” Tarantino said. “But part of this thing, there is supposed to be a Spaghetti Western in it.”

We would definitely love a Tarantino-Thurman comeback, specifically a Kill Bil 3. The two have different paths that we can follow. Tarantino will be directing Oppenheimer which will be released in 2023 and Thurman's new TV series is now available on HBO TV+.
