As a long-running series, Naruto has plenty of memorable characters, but what about those 2 guys? If you're a Naruto fan, you know exactly who we mean.
These two characters are no doubt familiar to many long-time series fans. Even though they’re not major characters, these two shinobi were fixtures in the original Naruto anime and Shippuden, but not because of their skills.
Instead, they have become memes in the fanbase because of the accidentally comedic nature of their appearances.
Those 2 Dudes in Naruto: Who Are They?
While not a new trend, those 2 guys in Naruto continue to be a running joke in the Naruto community. For those who may have forgotten about them, there names are Kotestu Hagane and Izumo Kamizuki.
Kotestu and Izumo are two chunin from Konohagakure, and they have appeared many times in the original Naruto anime. Perhaps their most memorable appearance was in the Chunin Exam arc.
There, the two disguised themselves as chunin to catch cheaters, though the fact that they didn’t catch the main characters cheating proved they're not that strong.
Since then, the two have always been shown together. Even though their appearances aren’t exactly comedic, fans have been lightheartedly making fun of them.
This is because Kotetsu and Izumo don’t seem to be experts at their jobs. Still, many are fond of them and their bromance, to the point that they’re considered the favorite background characters of many.

What Happened to Kotestu Hagane and Izumo Kamizuki at the End of Naruto?
As established in various arcs, Kotetsu and Izumo are capable chunin, though their abilities pale in comparison to the show’s primary characters.
Still, even if they’re not the strongest shinobi out there, the two managed to survive the events of the Fourth Shinobi World War arc.
In fact, Kotetsu and Izumo appeared in The Last: Naruto Movie. There, the two accompanied Kakashi to the Kage Summit. They were also shown near the film’s end after the Moon crisis was averted.

Are Kotetsu and Izumo in Boruto?
Even though they’ve become fan favorites, Kotestu and Izumo have not appeared yet in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.
They’re still alive and well presumably, so there’s a possibility that they’ll appear at some point in Boruto. Hopefully, they do in Two Blue Vortex.
If they do return, there’s no doubt that 'those 2 dudes in Naruto' will once again make waves among the fanbase.
