Are There Any Differences Between the K-Drama and Webtoon?
To the surprise of avid fans, there were actually a number of differences between the webtoon and its live-action adaptation.
One of the differences is the time frame of the story. The Kdrama only spans a few years and focuses on the characters' senior year of high school and two years of university. Meanwhile, the webtoon goes through several years of high school and university.
Another difference between the series and the webtoon is that the Kdrama shows Su-ho and Ju-gyeong ending up together. At the time of the Kdrama's release, the webtoon was still ongoing so there were still several things that happened along the way.
Not to mention, the relationship of the two characters is different. The webtoon had a more in-depth look at the love triangle since Ju-gyeong dated Seo-joon and Su-ho. Meanwhile, she didn't really reciprocate Seo-joon's feelings.
Despite these differences though, True Beauty has a good story to tell. You don't really need to read the webtoon before watching the series. But it would be good to explore the actual story too.
