Trolls are Bombing Every Post from Star Wars Official Social Media Accounts

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hasn't even released, and yet it seems like some fans have begun to stir up trouble online.

Early reactions to The Rise of Skywalker reveal an exciting but divisive movie, and now while the discourse gets stronger and stronger, fans have begun trolling Star Wars' social media accounts online. While the official Star Wars account on Twitter has been busy promoting the third and final sequel trilogy entry, trolls have been throwing shade all over the posts, asking the Star Wars franchise to just "keep it."

There are hundreds of replies to the Star Wars account's various tweets about The Rise of Skywalker, with trolls telling the franchise "no," and that "this isn't Star Wars."

An innocent post by the account reminding fans that Episode IX is going to be the very final chapter in the Skywalker saga has been flooded with negative replies, telling the franchise that they should be ashamed of themselves and that "this is so disrespectful." They've also been sharing a whole lot of negative GIFs on the thread with some showing Oprah Winfrey giving away refunds and others showing Natalie Portman's Amidala telling the franchise that "you're breaking my heart."

We're not sure why trolls are reacting this way so early in the game – only a few have been able to see the film early. Episode IX doesn't officially premiere until Friday this week. It's been really messy online, though we're hoping that this doesn't really affect The Rise of Skywalker when it premieres.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres on December 20, 2019.
