The Classic Anime, Trigun, Is Back!
Trigun Stampede is based on the post-apocalyptic action manga series, Trigun, written by Yasuhiro Nightow.
Trigun was first released as a manga series by Dark Horse Comics from 1995 to 1997. That same year, another manga titled Trigun Maximum came out which lasted for a decade.
As a classic hit, Trigun received an anime series adaptation by Madhouse, which spanned 26 episodes. In 2010, it also received a movie adaptation titled Trigun: Badlands Rumble.
Now, Trigun is getting adapted into a new anime series called Trigun Stampede, which will be produced by studio Orange and streamed by Crunchyroll internationally.
What Is Trigun Stampede All About?
Trigun Stampede is set in No Man's Land, a fictional planet where Vash the Stampede, a famous gunman, is up against bounty hunters who are after the huge bounty on his head.
Throughout the story, Vash's past, which seemingly takes inspiration from Western movies, gets explored.
Vash is different from other cowboys in that he always tries to avoid killing his enemies. Instead, their stories also get explored in each arc.
Trigun Stampede forms part of the Winter 2023 anime season. But as of writing, it doesn't have an official episode count yet.
