Lara Croft Makes Her Anime Debut
We don’t know much about the anime’s plot or story details at this point, but based on the teaser, we can expect to see the same things that make Lara Croft the icon that she is.
In a jungle setting, we see Lara confidently using a bow and arrow, fearlessly jumping into a pit, and more. Already, we see glimpses of the distinctive traits of her video game counterpart.
A mystery also unfolds as Lara gazes at an old photograph that hints at memories from her past.
The anime is set to take place after the events of the 2013 to 2018 video game reboot.
We expect the new series to fill the gap in the Tomb Raider timeline and connect the reboot trilogy to the original game series.

The teaser is relatively short at just over a minute long, but it shows us what we can expect from the anime.
Lara seems to be raiding tombs when she comes across a supernatural challenge she needs to face in order to save the world, as she has done numerous times.

Same as with the plot, we don’t have much info on the anime’s release, except that it will come out sometime next year.
If we were to predict when it will be released, a safe guess would be during the Summer or Fall season as that is when most of Netflix’s big anime titles were released in previous years.
Do take this speculation with a grain of salt as we can only confirm the anime’s release date once it is officially announced.

So far, there are only three confirmed voice actors for the Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft anime.
Lending her voice as the titular Lara Croft is none other than actress Hayley Atwell.
Aside from her famous role as Margaret “Peggy” Carter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Atwell is also known for portraying Lady Elizabeth Foster in The Duchess and Grace in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.
Atwell is joined by actors Allen Maldonado as Lara’s tech expert, Zip, and Earl Baylon as Lara’s close friend and travel companion, Jonah Maiava.
Maldonado is an actor best known for his role as Curtis in Black-ish and as Bobby in The Last O.G.
Meanwhile, Baylon is a voice actor who has worked on various anime’s English dubs before, including Vinland Saga Season 2 as Thorgil, and Tekken: Bloodline as Ganryu.
We expect to see more additions to the anime’s voice cast as more details are revealed!

The studio in charge of the animation for Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is Powerhouse Animation Studios, an American studio based in Austin, Texas.
