Tom Holland Reportedly Being Considered to Potentially Host the Oscars

The 94th Academy Awards (or the Oscars), an awards ceremony honoring the best in film for the past year, is scheduled to be held in just two months. While details regarding the highly-anticipated event are still scarce, it has been confirmed by the president of ABC Entertainment that, unlike in the past three ceremonies, they will have a host this time around.

Of course, the question now is who is going to host the Oscars? A lot of names are being thrown around at the moment but, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland has been reached out by the Academy to explore the possibility of him hosting the ceremony after he previously expressed his interest in a recent interview. However, it is unknown yet if his talks with the Academy are still ongoing or if it has already fallen through.

It is hard to tell at this point if Holland is likely to host the Oscars. Given that he is open to doing it, there is certainly a possibility that it could happen and he would be an unorthodox choice since most Oscars hosts in the past have been comedians. It is also unlikely that it will happen since Holland is a busy man and he is attached to a lot of projects which might prevent him from doing any preparations to host the Oscars.

Besides Holland, one of the names that are being thrown to possibly host the Oscars is Dwayne Johnson according to a report from Deadline. Former host Chris Rock has also been approached to potentially take the job as well. However, they noted that finding a host has been challenging because of the pandemic.

Whoever hosts the Oscars whether it's Holland or not, it's going to be a big responsibility for them and there will be a lot of pressure since the ceremony hasn't had a host for three years. Let's just see if Holland will eventually take the job or it will be another celebrity. Who knows, as some fans suggested, it will be Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire or Holland and Zendaya. We should be able to find out about it soon enough.
