Tom Holland References Spider-Man: Far From Home Shocker in First Image From New Film Cherry

In case you missed it, Tom Holland had to shave his head for his new role in the upcoming Russo brothers film Cherry. Now, we have our first look at the crime drama and Holland somehow made a reference to the shocking mid-credits scene in Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Holland shared the image on his official Instagram account. Check it out below.

"No alarms. I'm a wanted man. They'll kill me..." Holland wrote. Not surprisingly, most fans immediately believed it was a reference to the Far From Home mid-credits scene where it was revealed that Peter Parker is Spider-Man. However, it's more of a nod to his new character who robs banks while dealing with his drug addiction.

Cherry is based on Nico Walker's novel of the same name that tells the story of a former soldier who struggles with post-traumatic stress disorder and becomes addicted to opioids. The man then starts robbing banks to feed his addiction.

Although the character is not named in the book, Holland will be playing a character named Nico Walker in the film. It also stars Ciara Bravo, Bill Skarsgård, Jack Reynor, Jeff Wahlberg, Kyle Harvey, Forrest Goodluck, and Michael Gandolfini. We're looking forward to the film, which sounds like a completely different project for Holland.

Holland is currently working on Cherry but is also expected to return as the web-slinger in the still-untitled Spider-Man 3. In addition to that, the Chaos Walking star is set to appear in another Marvel Cinematic Universe film. His next project is the animated movie Onward, which is scheduled for release on March 6, 2020.
