Tom Holland Posts Touching Birthday Message For Robert Downey, Jr.

Happy Birthday Robert Downey Jr.! The man who plays Tony Stark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is 54 today and several fans are greeting the actor on social media. Not surprisingly, even Tom Holland has a touching message for his Spider-Man: Homecoming co-star.

Holland posted a photo of himself and Downey on his official Instagram account. In addition to that, the Spider-Man: Far From Home actor wrote a heartfelt caption dedicated to the MCU star. Check it out below.

"What happened next is history. To a mentor on and off screen, happy birthday boss man. Hope you have a wonderful day," Holland wrote, adding the hashtag #teamstark.

There is little doubt that Holland looks up to Downey, who he first worked with in Captain America: Civil War. The two actors have since forged a friendship while filming Homecoming and Avengers: Infinity War. But what are the chances that Peter and Tony will be reunited in Avengers: Endgame?

Fans believe that Peter will return in Endgame after a new teaser featured Tony looking at a framed photograph of himself with his young friend. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo have also admitted that they did not give Holland a script of Endgame, which pretty much confirms the actor worked on the movie.

Downey had previously offered a glimpse at what it was like to shoot the photo that appears in the teaser. The Sherlock Holmes 3 star shared a photo of himself and Holland at Stark Industries.

Downey (and Holland) will return in Avengers: Endgame, which premieres on April 26. Holland will be back in Spider-Man: Far From Home, which is scheduled for release on July 5.
