Tom Cruise Reportedly Has High Praise for The Flash

As Steven Spielberg now infamously said, Tom Cruise "saved Hollywood's ass" last year with the release of Top Gun: Maverick as it ended up grossing almost $1.5 billion worldwide and managed to bring back a lot of the general public to the theaters. It also continued to solidify the actor as one of the biggest movie stars that we have today (if not THE biggest).

A lot of people are wondering which film that will be released this year may become the next big surprise hit at the box office and there are certainly a lot of titles that can qualify for that position. Now, it looks like there is an upcoming DC film that apparently already has the approval of Cruise himself.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Flash has found its big endorser with the Top Gun: Maverick star as they revealed that Cruise has already seen the film and loved it to the point that he contacted director Andy Muschietti to express his enthusiasm afterward.

Apparently, last month, Cruise had a meeting with Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav, who mentioned in their discussions how great the film was. Out of curiosity, Cruise requested to see the film in advance and a copy was sent to his home in Beverly Hills.

A Warner Bros. employee brought the film to Cruise's home and waited for the actor to finish the film. After the actor was done, he returned the copy to the messenger. He also called Muschietti afterward to share his reaction and gave high praise for his work.

The report claimed that Cruise described the film as "everything you want in a movie" and "this is the kind of movie we need now" according to the insiders. Muschietti himself was surprised about receiving a call from Cruise as it was out of the blue for him.

This is certainly a strong endorsement from the person who was credited to save the theatrical market last year. It is a sign that perhaps The Flash is indeed as great as the positive buzz has suggested for the past couple of months and could become a huge hit when it is released this summer.

Obviously, we still need to wait for a couple of months before we get to see the film's impact on the general audience. With Shazam! Fury of the Gods dwindling on its opening weekend box office, DC certainly needs its next film to be a huge hit.
