Titans Season 2 Officially Reveals Dick Grayson's Nightwing Suit

We already know that Dick Grayson will become Nightwing in Titans Season 2 but DC Universe seems to be keeping it a secret. However, we finally have our first official look at the Nightwing suit and it's pretty amazing.

The Nightwing suit was unveiled by showrunner Greg Walker and costume designer Laura Jean Shannon at a special event in Burbank, California (via Entertainment Weekly). Sadly, the costume was not worn by actor Brenton Thwaites at the event although the mannequin looked pretty awesome. Check it out below.

We're loving the suit and we can't wait to see Thwaites rocking the costume in the upcoming episode of Titans Season 2.

But why did it take so long for DC Universe to reveal the Nightwing suit although people have been begging for it for more than a year? Walker offered a simple explanation.

"It's such a big deal, becoming [Nightwing], and we didn't just want him to show up in the suit," Walker said. "It had to be a representation of where he evolved as a character over the course of those two seasons."

Walker went on to explain that Dick's journey to becoming Nightwing has been there right from the start.

"Where we meet him in Episode 1 of the show is, he's in exile from his dysfunctional relationship with Bruce Wayne," he continued. "He's really ambivalent about being Robin at all. At one point he burns the suit. So he has a [really] complicated relationship with the suit… We always felt that he needed to go on Season 2 as this kind of journey of recognizing what mistakes he made in the past, assessing himself, trying to figure out his relationship with Bruce, and then evolving past Robin. Because if he's not Robin anymore, then who is he?"

He's Nightwing, obviously, and he's getting his own episode next week. Unfortunately, that means we'll have to wait seven more days before we can find out if the suit is as comic book-accurate as we're all hoping for (you know what I'm talking about).

The Titans Season 2 episode Nightwing will air on DC Universe on November 29.
