Superman star Wendell Pierce is reportedly making his MCU debut as he also joined the cast of Thunderbolts*.
The upcoming MCU film will feature the crossover of fan-favorite characters from past films and TV shows led by Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova and Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes as they assemble for a covert mission.
Recently, fans were treated to the official teaser trailer which gave them their first exciting look at the highly-anticipated team-up and the awesome action sequences.
Superman's Wendell Pierce Joins the Cast of Thunderbolts*
According to the film's official project profile released by Disney, Pierce is part of the main cast of Thunderbolts*. There are no details regarding the role that he is playing.
This is an interesting casting tidbit considering that he is also playing Perry White in James Gunn's Superman, which will officially launch the DCU.
With the two films set to release next year, it would mean that Pierce will be making his MCU and DCU debut at the same time, a rare occurrence for fans to see.
While the two major comic book franchises may seem to have a rivalry, we are seeing signs that they have not forbidden their actors to only participate in one of them exclusively and Pierce proved that someone can do both concurrently.
Whether Pierce's role in Thunderbolts* will end up being small or not, it is great to see him join the ensemble as he has proven in his decades-long work that he is a very talented actor who is always a great addition to a cast.
Aside from Pierce, the project profile also revealed that For All Mankind star Chris Bauer has also joined the cast. The details of his role are being kept under wraps as well.
Thunderbolts* is slated for release in theaters on May 2, 2025.
