Thor: Love and Thunder's Plot Synopsis Officially Revealed


Following Thor: Love and Thunder's first-teaser arrival, it looks like fans are in for more treats as the official synopsis for the film is officially unveiled by Marvel. While the teaser didn't reveal any appearances of Christian Bale's Gorr The God Butcher, the synopsis confirms that he will be the big bad for the Thor 4 film.

“A new trailer and poster are now available for Marvel Studios' "Thor: Love and Thunder," offering long-awaited clues to what's in store for the God of Thunder.

The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he's ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor's surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher's vengeance and stop him before it's too late.

Directed by Waititi ("Thor: Ragnarok," "Jojo Rabbit") and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum, "Thor: Love and Thunder" opens in theaters July 8, 2022.”

Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi returns to helm Thor: Love and Thunder and will explore more of the titular character's journey after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Thor: Love and Thunder is also the first time again Chris Hemsworth's Thor will be seen on the big screens after the Infinity Saga concluded.

The long-awaited teaser marks the first look at Korg, Valkryie as the new king of Asgard, the Guardians of the Galaxy crew, Russel Crowe's Zeus, and Jane Foster's Lady Thor, wielding Thor's beloved weapon, Mjolnir. However, Christian Bale's Gorr The God Butcher wasn't spotted in the teaser.

Thor: Love and Thunder will hit theaters on July 8, 2022.
