Thor: Love and Thunder is currently filming right now, and set photos have spread on social media revealing details from the upcoming Marvel movie.
One of the new set photos from Thor: Love and Thunder seemingly reveals something from the comic mythos that will make it into the new film.
The Thor: Love and Thunder News Twitter account shared photos from the set of the God of Thunder's latest film that feature Chris Hemsworth resprising his role as Thor. He is also seen side-by-side with a massive goat puppet meant to resemble the Asgardian goats Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder.
In Norse mythology, Toothgnasher and Toothgrinder are the goats who pull Thor's chariot, and first appeared in Marvel Comics canon in Thor #339 and have been featured periodically. They both can be reborn if eaten unless one of their bones are broken, and are superhumanly strong. The goats are also capable of traveling between the Ten Realms and both run and fly at fly at high speed.
Director Taika Waititi previously revealed that Jason Aaron's Thor run inspired the story for Love and Thunder, with Gorr the God Butcher set to become the main villain, and Jane Foster set to become Thor.
Thor: Love and Thunder is being directed by Taika Waititi, and stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax, Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher, Karen Gillan as Nebula, and Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif. The film is set to release in theateres on May 6, 2022.
