Thor has had some pretty radical looks in the Marvel Cinematic Universe over the years but despite looking badass for most of his appearances in the franchise, the God of Thunder is also no stranger to looking goofy at times — from his bleached eyebrows in the original Thor movie to his "Bro Thor" getup in Avengers: Endgame. But the new suit he dons in Thor: Love and Thunder just might take the cake for being the most bizarre Thor outfit yet.
Earlier this week, promotional artwork for the upcoming Marvel Studios production surfaced online and it features both Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman sporting their respective Asgardian armors. Jane Foster's costume is undeniably faithful to its source material while Odinson's armor makes use of a blue and gold color scheme most of us wouldn't associate with the worthy one.
Now, a clearer and more close-up image of Thor's new costume has made its way to social media and it's looking quite bizarre, to say the least. The armor still looks the same as the recently-surfaced artwork but on top of his new costume, it turns out that he'll also be sporting a helmet and half mask combo similar to Jane's. I'm not sure how to feel about it, to be honest. Check it out here:

Apparently, the new costume is an homage to one of Thor's comic book appearances but I gotta say, I'm not digging the color scheme they went with and the entire look will take a lot of getting used to. I have faith though that it'll translate better in live-action because as it stands, it looks way too cartoonish for my liking.
Marvel Studios' Thor: Love and Thunder is scheduled to hit cinemas on July 8, 2022.
