Pokemon Executive's Pikachu Face Shield is Going Viral

Given the fact that we're still in the midst of a global pandemic, it's become normal for a lot of us to wear protective gear especially when heading outdoors as to not catch the deadly COVID-19 virus which has claimed quite the number of victims. Now, Pokemon composer Junichi Masuda is well aware of the threat we're all up against these days and he's gotten the internet's attention with his Pikachu-shaped face shield that is both functional and just straight-up kawaii.

Taking to his Twitter account, Masuda showed off his face shield which features Pikachu's recognizable black-tipped ears, mouth, and red cheeks. According to Masuda, he was wearing the shield for the first time that's why he decided to take a photo of himself wearing the protective shield. Originally written in Japanese, the tweet translates: "I put it on for the first time today! Pikachu face shield!" See it for yourself below:


Nothing screams Pokemon more than Pikachu with Ash Ketchum coming in a close second. The iconic pop culture figure has been the brand's poster character for over 20 years now, be it in the video game or the animated series or any form of media imaginable. The character's popularity and cultural impact cannot be denied and it's great to see how Pikachu keeps the Pokemon franchise alive and well to this day. I mean, let's not kid ourselves, he's just too damn irresistible and we can't help but be swooned by his magnetic charm.
