Ahead of the second season's premiere, The Wheel of Time was already renewed for a Season 3. So when does the third season come out, what will it be about, and who will be returning? Here's what we know so far about The Wheel of Time Season 3 release date and everything else about the upcoming season!
The Wheel of Time Season 3 Release Date: When Will the Third Season Come Out?
As of writing, there is no official release date yet for The Wheel of Time Season 3. It is possible that the third season will come out in late 2024 or 2025.
Filming for The Wheel of Time Season 3 began in April 2023, ahead of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. In late June 2023, actor Daniel Henney shared that they "were able to get a good chunk of it [Season 3] done".
So, there's a chance that the third season will come out in late 2024. But considering the gap between the first two seasons, the third season could also come out in 2025.
Talking about the show's renewal, showrunner Rafe Judkins shared during the 2022 San Deigo Comic-Con:
"I'm so thrilled that we'll be making a third season of The Wheel of Time. The Shadow Rising has always been my favorite book in the series, so being able to bring it to television and introduce new audiences to the stories that made me fall in love with these books in the first place is such an honor, and something I've been working toward since I first pitched the show years and years ago."

The Wheel of Time Season 3 Cast: Who Are the Actors Included in the Third Season?
The third season of The Wheel of Time may still include most of the prominent cast members from the series' first two seasons.
We can expect the following to return in The Wheel of Time Season 3:

- Zoë Robins as Nynaeve al'Meara
- Josha Stradowski as Rand al'Thor
- Madeleine Madden as Egwene Al'Vere

New Season 2 cast members who we can expect to be in The Wheel of Time Season 3 include Ceara Coveney as Elayne Trakand, Natasha O'Keeffe as Lanfear, Ayoola Smart as Aviendha, and Laia Costa as Moghedien.
The Wheel of Time Season 3 Plot: What Will Season 3 Be About?
There is still no official logline for The Wheel of Time Season 3, but the third season will be based on the fourth book of the novel series, The Shadow Rising.
The story revolves around Rand al'Thor, the Dragon Reborn, who now wields the sword Callandor. He journeys to the Aiel Waste and seeks answers to another prophecy that lies with the warrior people known as the Aiel.
