After two seasons of The Uncanny Counter, we're still nowhere near getting a romance in the show. The closest viewers can get is with The Uncanny Counter So Mun and Ha-na's budding romance.

But do the two end up together? Does Ha-na even like So Mun *that* way? Here's what we know about the relationship of the two Counters.

It's no secret that So Mun (played by Jo Byeong-kyu) had a huge crush on Do Ha-na (played by Kim Se-jeong) the first time he saw her in Season 1. In fact, it would probably be one of the biggest reasons why Mun decided to be a Counter.

But throughout the first season, Ha-na always brushed off the teasing. There were also some cases when Mun introduced Ha-na as his girlfriend to his deceased parents in the finale of Season 1.

This hints at a possible romance between the two. But as the show moved to another season, the hope for the two becoming an item has dimmed.

For one thing, the time gap between seasons may be around three or four years. It would have been weird if Mun kept having a crush on Ha-na without doing anything by then.

Not to mention, when they discover Ha-na's childhood friend, Mun nonchalantly teases her about it. In fact, Na Jeok-bong (played by Yoo In-soo) was seething with jealousy instead of So Mun.

In The Uncanny Counter Season 2, Ha-na accidentally bumps into her first love, Park Do-hwi (played by Seo Byeok-jun), while training. Do-hwi, now a pianist, also can't believe he chances upon Ha-na.

This chance meeting warmed Ha-na's heart since she accepted Do-hwi's plans to meet later. Originally, she planned on not showing up to the date. But at the last minute, Ha-na agreed and met up with Do-hwi.

While on their date, Ha-na sees Mun's friend, Kim Ung-min (played by Kim Eun-soo), cycling past them. Ung-min realizes this is Ha-na and starts to follow them.

Ha-na hides in a small amusement park where she and Do-hwi start to operate a claw machine. While hesitating at first, Ha-na allows Do-hwi to hold her hand. This just shows she is comfortable with Do-hwi. She hasn't shown the same level of comfort as anyone else.

Ha-na also learned that Do-hwi stayed by her side in a coma. This touches her heart and makes her hope for a future with him. But realizing he will be in danger, she breaks things off before they can progress.

Unfortunately, Ha-na doesn't realize that Gelly (played by Kim Hieora) has been following her.

Ha-na fights Gelly off, but while fighting, Do-hwi tries to protect Ha-na. Gelly takes this as an opportunity to threaten Ha-na and stabs Do-hwi in the back.

Also, while trying to escape, Gelly stabs him in the chest again before Hwang Pil-gwang (played by Kang Ki-young) steps in.

Ha-na does her best to protect Do-hwi, and they get to safety. With the help of Chu Mae-ok (played by Yeom Hye-ran), Do-hwi gets healed.

Ha-na promises she'll take care of Do-hwi and says goodbye to him. While Do-hwi rests, Ha-na erases every single memory he has with her. This crushes her, but she must do this to protect him.

In the season finale of The Uncanny Counter, Ha-na chances upon Do-hwi outside of his shop. He invites Ha-na to try piano classes without knowing who she is.

Surprisingly, Ha-na accepts his invitation with a smile. Hopefully, we'll learn more about Do-hwi when the show returns for a third season.

Does Ha-na Like Mun Too?

When Mun loses his memory of being a Counter (no thanks to Gelly), everyone in the group is torn and hopeless. But if there's one person who seems to be affected the most, it would be Ha-na.

She tries to help look for a way to get Mun back to them. Even if it meant putting herself in danger, Ha-na enters Mun's mind twice.

In the second time, Ha-na learned that Mun blamed himself for all the deaths around him. As the truck that killed Mun's parents in Season one approached them, Ha-na didn't budge.

She wanted Mun to know that she was with him. This made Mun recall her memories with Ha-na. He swiftly turns around and hugs Ha-na to protect her from the incoming truck.

This action brings back Mun's memories, and he gains consciousness again.

In the first season, Ha-na was clearly already an adult, and Mun was still a high schooler. This is perhaps one of the reasons Ha-na never welcomed the idea of a relationship with Mun.

But it's clear that Ha-na started to care for her fellow Counter as the days went on.

More importantly, their focus has always been on hunting evil spirits. Back in 2020, the two spoke with Soompi and explained why a romance between the two wasn't likely. As explained by Byeong-kyu:

“Since the work of the counters is directly connected to survival, I feel like it’d be hard. Obviously, you can believe the statement from Ga Mo-tak [played by Yoo Joon-sang] that love exists even on a battlefield, but I think So Moon is someone whose calling to defeat demons is too great. “That’s why, realistically, I’m not sure a relationship would arise. Since it’s a drama that really clears and refreshes the hearts of our good citizens, I feel like the focus might be more on hunting demons.”

True enough, the season finale of The Uncanny Counter Season 2 shows that the two will be going their separate ways.

Ha-na having a chance encounter with Do-hwi. He doesn't recognize who she is but he can't help not to approach her.

As for Mun, he meets Wi-gen's daughter, Jade (played by Angelina Danilova), while on a trip in Germany. Many can't help but start to ship them together.

Hopefully, Jade will have a bigger role in the third season.

Do So Mun and Ha-Na End Up Together in the Webtoon?

Over on Reddit, there is an inconsistency in the writing of the show.

While Season One hinted at a blossoming romance between Ha-na and Mun, Season Two seemed to have completely abandoned this when Do-hwi came into the picture.

One possible reason behind this is that the writers were changed between seasons. After 12 episodes, scriptwriter Yeo Ji-na left the show because of "different opinions on the series' final storyline."

The director, Yoo Seon-dong, wrote the succeeding episode, while Kim Sae-bom wrote the final three episodes in Season One.

Also, fans didn't like the hint of romance between Ha-na and Mun, especially since the source material did not have any trace of it.

The original webtoon shows that there is no romance between the two Counters. Ha-na simply treated Mun like a younger sibling. Perhaps this is the direction the writers in Season Two are going with.

Hopefully, a third season will explain things more. It's too bad that Do-he is out of the picture now. We really shipped him and Ha-na.
