The Kardashian-Jenner family is known for their tight-knit bond, but the same can’t be said for the Jenners after Kendall and Kylie Jenner opted to skip their half-brother Brody Jenner’s wedding to Tia Blanco earlier this July.
Their father, Caitlyn Jenner, did attend the event. But why did Kendall and Kylie skip the wedding?
Why Did Kendall and Kylie Jenner Not Attend Brody Jenner’s Wedding?
While the Jenners have remained mum about Kendall and Kylie’s absence at Brody’s wedding, a source told The U.S. Sunthat the event “wasn’t a priority to them.”
Allegedly, Brody personally invited his half-sisters to the wedding months in advance. However, the girls were said to have had “other commitments.”
“So unfortunately they were not able to attend,” the insider added.
Kylie was reportedly busy touring across Europe, while Kendall attended Lauren Sánchez and Jeff Bezos’ grand wedding with her family in Venice in late June.
But despite their packed schedules, the tipster claimed the famous sisters could have made it to The Hills alum’s wedding if they truly wanted to.
Kylie has a private jet, anyway, and they could have a quick flight to celebrate their sibling’s special day.
What reportedly held them back, however, was the long-standing “bad blood” between their mothers, Kris Jenner and Linda Thompson, both former wives of Caitlyn.
“Linda is quite a character, and has a lot to say about Kris – and vice versa,” the source revealed. “It was fireworks for a few years, and that drama did carry through into the kids.”
For starters, Caitlyn and Linda parted ways in 1986. Five years later, Caitlyn went on to marry Kris, but their relationship ended in 2013. Caitlyn publicly confirmed her transition in 2015.
Do the Jenner Kids Get Along with Caitlyn’s Families?
Being the child of Caitlyn’s first wife, the insider revealed that Brody has never been fond of Kris, despite his efforts to build a relationship with his half-siblings.
“He’s never gotten over it, and so when the siblings were trying to build relationships, Brody would often fall back into this narrative of blaming Kris for everything,” the source said.
Kendall, on the other hand, has made efforts to connect with her Jenner side of the family. Kylie, however, is more indifferent, firmly aligning herself with the Kardashians.
“Kylie has admitted to friends she just feels like a stranger in the Jenner family unit,” the tipster continued. “She has nothing in common with them. She feels her place is as part of the Kardashians.”
In addition to Kylie and Kendall, Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian also didn’t attend Brody’s wedding. However, it’s unclear whether they were even invited in the first place.
Despite their absence, Brody appeared happy to tie the knot with Tia at Linda’s home in Malibu, California.
About 70 guests were present, including Caitlyn, who showed up for her son despite grieving the recent death of her friend and manager Sophia Hutchins, who passed away in an ATV crash just a week earlier.
