The Super Mario Bros. Movie: Jack Black Suggests The Mandalorian Star as the Voice of Wario in Sequel

The Super Mario Bros. Movie has been shattering a lot of box office records on its opening weekend and it is now projected to be one of the biggest hits this year. Jack Black's voice performance as Bowser is considered one of the film's secret sauce regarding its positive reception from the audience and there are hopes that he will continue voicing the role in the future.

In an interview with Game Spot, Black was asked about the possibility of returning to the role in a potential sequel where he suggested that he might not come back since they may change the villain in the next film.

"It's not a given that Bowser will return. You know, I did a few Kung Fu Panda movies, and it was a different villain every movie. They may do the same thing," he said.

However, the actor suggested that Wario might be set as the villain of the potential sequel and believes that The Mandalorian and The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal is the perfect choice to voice the character.

He added, "You know, what if there is a more powerful, more evil villain? Then I may need to be turned to help Mario and the rest to defend our universe against some other unseen force of evil. Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Wario. Pedro Pascal is Wario."

It is also worth noting that Black and Pascal worked together recently as the former guest starred in the latest episode of The Mandalorian alongside Grammy-winning singer Lizzo where they played the couple who are the rulers of the independent planet that Din Djarin, Bo-Katan Kryze, and Grogu visited.

Knowing Pascal's talent throughout the years, a lot of fans might actually be on-board with the idea of him voicing Wario in a potential sequel and there is no doubt that he'll do a great job voicing the character if ever he does get cast. For now, let's wait and see whether the producers will entertain that idea.
