The Suicide Squad: James Gunn Confirms Michael Rooker, John Cena, And More For DCEU Film

We've all heard of those rumors about who will be joining The Suicide Squad, right? Well, it turns out that most of them are actually true. James Gunn has just confirmed that Michael Rooker, John Cena, Nathan Fillion, and so many more are going to be in the highly-anticipated DC Extended Universe flick.

Gunn shared the lineup on his official Instagram account along with the new logo for The Suicide Squad. Check it out below.

The film will bring back Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman, and Jai Courtney. Previously confirmed cast members include Idris Elba, David Dastmalchian, and Daniela Melchior. But now, we can confirm that Rooker, Cena, and Fillion will be part of the cast. In addition to that, Steve Agee, Pete Davidson, Taika Waititi, Flula Borg, Mayling Ng, Sean Gunn, Juan Diego Botto, Storm Reid, Alice Braga, Tinashe Kajese, Peter Capaldi, Julio Ruiz, and Jennifer Holland will all be in the movie.

It's a massive cast indeed but Gunn is already teasing that not everyone will make it to the end. The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 director made sure to give the post a fitting caption: "Don't get too attached."

Too late, James. We're happy to know that Rooker is once again collaborating with Gunn on yet another project. Now if we could only figure out who he will be playing. (Don't say King Shark, Agee's been confirmed to provide the voice of the DC character).

The Suicide Squad is expected to begin production later this month in Atlanta, Georgia. The film is then scheduled for release on August 6, 2021.
