Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has officially made its debut. With the film tasked to give a satisfying conclusion to the Skywalker Saga, fans have high hopes that director J.J. Abrams will see this through. It seems like top critics didn't seem to like it, but the movie's audience score is a different story.

Following the world premiere of The Rise of Skywalker on Monday night, some fans were surprised to learn about the film getting a rotten score of 57% from 157 critic ratings. At the time of this writing, the positive ratings have raised by one percent with a total of 305 reviews. However, the Rotten Tomatoes audience score is much higher, with the film getting an 86% rating from 9,205 reviews. You can check out some of the audience reviews below.

User Thalia says "it was really good overall" and that she would watch the movie again. She thought that the story "did justice" to new and old characters.

User Flo T even made an account to share his thoughts on the film and to let the "old-school Star Wars fans know that this movie is absolutely fantastic!"

Carolyn S. also agrees, saying that she is "110% satisfied" with the movie. "If you love Star Wars, ignore the naysayers and go see this movie!" she wrote.

That being said, not everyone is particularly happy with the outcome of the film.

According to user David H., the film "wasn't nearly as good" as he hoped it would be. He thinks that there are "too many" plot holes in the movie and that he thinks Episode IX was a "typical" J.J. Abrams film.

Will T. says The Rise of Skywalker is "not good at all!" He was also hoping for something that could have brought the trilogy together. "But it was a mixed-up no sense plot that hurts the other two movies!" he added.

It's evident that early on in the film's release, it's already proving to be quite divisive among the fans. Have you watched Episode IX yet? What are your thoughts on the film? Tell us in the comments below!
