One of the most epic scenes in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is the lightsaber Force pass between Rey and Ben Solo. While it is known that they were able to do this through their Force bond, the movie's novelization offers more details on what exactly was going on in that surprising scene.

The lightsaber pass was only seen for a brief moment in the film and it certainly raised a lot of questions with regards to how they made this possible and what more they are able to do with their Force bond.

The Rise of Skywalker novelization is yet to be available but some fans were able to get some copies at the C2E2 event in Chicago. Some of the pages from the book have already made it online, including the said scene.

When Rey is seemingly getting ready to strike Emperor Palpatine with her saber, she shared a connection with Ben, with which he acknowledged, making her surprised. "It felt different now," the passage reads. "The connection was… right. Good. Like coming home."

Ben was stunned as well and they had a moment where they realized what they are capable of doing. "This is how it should have been all along," the book reads. "A true dyad." You can check out the rest of the passage shared by a fan on Twitter here.

The lightsaber pass was certainly a surprising ability that fans weren't expecting to see which leads to more questions of what they are capable to do and what other abilities they have yet to discover.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is set to hit digital on March 17 and Blu-Ray/DVD on March 31.
