The Rise of Skywalker Concept Art Gives Alternate Look for Dark Rey

While Rey never got to wield a double-ended lightsaber in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, her ‘dark' version did in the ruins of the Death Star. Just like with any other film, there were several other concepts thrown around for ‘Dark Rey' and we have a look at an alternate version thanks to the concept art book for TROS.

While this version doesn't have the double-bladed saber, I think the cloak here actually looks better, what with all the texture and more heavy appearance. Then again, I guess it wouldn't be as practical, seeing that Rey has to fight this version of herself in the film.

Admittedly it took me months to revisit The Rise of Skywalker after one watch, but seeing it again, I have to say, it wasn't as bad the second time around. I'm still not a fan of a lot of character choices the film went through, but at least the blows don't hit that hard, and I found myself having a better time.

While the cap has been put on the Sequel Trilogy, I would actually love to see more of Rey, Finn, and Poe down the line. Who knows, maybe they can even find a way to revive Ben Solo with "The World Between Worlds" concept. I guess all we really need is time.

For now, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is available on digital and comes to Blu-Ray/DVD on March 31.
