Most, if not all, viewers would agree that The Resident Season 5 is giving us the drama that we need. One of the biggest storylines this season is the departure of Emily VanCamp, who portrays Nicolette "Nic" Nevin. She plays a nurse practitioner at Chastain Park Memorial Hospital.

Previously on The Resident Season 5 Episode 2, viewers learned that something most likely happened to Nic. In the last scene, fans saw a police officer knocking on Conrad's front door.
At that moment, numerous hearts dropped, with some thinking they would know what happened to who. Instead, viewers were left with a cliffhanger after the police officer informed Conrad that there was an accident.
It would be so heartbreaking for all of us if Nic dies. Worse, if Conrad Hawkins would be left to tend for himself and their baby. This will put Conrad in a difficult position. But, of course, fans would have to wait for The Resident Season 5 Episode 3 to air.

The Resident Season 5 Episode 3 teaser showed Nic in the hospital fighting for her life. The trailer even revealed that there was a horrific car accident. Everyone in Chastain are working together to keep Nic alive. Conrad also brings Gigi in the hospital to see her mom and Conrad is seen balling his eyes out asking Nic to fight and to not leave them.
