The Reason Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is Set in the Episode III Era

Even if you're not a huge Star Wars fan, EA's upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has a surprising amount of appeal. While we haven't seen any gameplay yet, the fact that it's a "man on the run" story with lightsabers and force powers means that the possibilities are endless. Fans are hoping that it will be just as good as, if not better than the Force Unleashed games.

However, some fans are curious as to why the game would be set a short time after Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Douglas Reilly, the Lucasfilm Games Vice President, spoke with StarWars.com and discussed why they chose this setting. Unsurprisingly, it has a lot to do with the whole "man on the run" concept.

"For us, it's the opportunity to have that story of somebody who's on the run, where there's an omnipresent threat throughout. And he's having to deal with that, and being constantly on the move and being challenged, and using all of his growing powers to counter those threats."

We know that the game will challenge players, having this young Jedi traverse through various environments and trying to hide from The Empire. Let's hope that the gameplay reveal in June impresses us.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order comes out on November 15.
