The New Mutants August Premiere Possibly Delayed Again

It seems like The New Mutants just can't catch a break. Although the long-delayed 20th Century Fox film is finally expected to premiere this August, a new international promo may have revealed that the movie could be pushed back yet again.

Fans were understandably delighted when there were several updates about The New Mutants during Comic-Con@Home. This included new promos and a teaser that confirmed the film will premiere in late August. However, things may have changed since then as a fan spotted an international promo from 20th Century Studios for the Josh Boone film which didn't feature a release date.

"BREAKING: #NewMutants Release date likely affected by #TENET again.... In yesterday's promo post from #20thCenturyStudios Taiwan, the date of New Mutants still remained on August 28. But in today's post, the date was removed and said Coming Soon..." the caption reads.

This is understandably alarming for people who already had their hopes up for the theatrical release of New Mutants. However, some also believe that the possible delay is only applicable in Taiwan where the re-opening of theaters might be delayed due to more COVID-19 cases being reported. For now, Disney and Marvel Studios have not yet issued an official statement about the change so it's best to take this with a grain of salt.

The New Mutants stars Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Alice Braga, Blu Hunt, and Henry Zaga. The film is currently scheduled for release on August 28.
