It's been rumored for quite some time now that Spider-Man 3 could mark the end of Peter Parker and Ned Leeds' friendship. According to one of our reports from a month ago, Jacob Batalon could be in for an MCU upgrade as he could end up becoming the menacing Hobgoblin in the franchise.
It would be an intriguing plot twist for sure but it can't be denied that we've yet to see Tom Holland's Spider-Man in a high-stakes situation that doesn't concern any of his teammates from the Avengers. Now, if ever you were wondering how Batalon would look like as the iconic Marvel villain, this image from digital artist @_artkin_ has you covered.
Batalon's overall look doesn't really scream "threatening" nor "imposing" and we've all gotten used to seeing him as a comic relief over the course of the franchise but this image alone will be enough to convince you that he'd be a good Hobgoblin given the chance. I don't know about you but I'm totally on board with the idea. Check it out here:
It's also worth noting that Jacob made headlines a few months back when he revealed his drastic body transformation on Instagram and it sure led a lot of webheads to believe that he's training to become a supervillain. But considering how stacked Spider-Man 3 already looks, don't be surprised if they reserve the Hobgobin's transformation for the fourth sequel. That is if they have actual plans of turning Ned evil, of course.
Spider-Man 3 is slated for release in December 2021.
