There is little doubt that the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe projects are set to be truly exciting ones. We're expecting a lot in The Marvels since it promises an epic superhero team-up featuring Carol Danvers, Monica Rambeau, and Kamala Khan. However, it looks like Captain Marvel 2 also has a few surprises to offer. A small leak confirms that there are two important MCU characters who will show up in the highly anticipated sequel! POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD, PROCEED WITH CAUTION!
Miss Marvel star Zenobia Shroff recently shared a series of photos on her official Instagram account showing the highlights of her year. The montage featured an image taken from the set of The Marvels which shows a series of headshots on the wall. It didn't take long before fans inspected the picture and realized that the headshots included two previously-unannounced MCU actors. Check it out here.
The headshots include Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Samuel L. Jackson, Zawe Ashton, Park Seo-joon, and Shroff herself. However, it also includes Thor: Love and Thunder star Tessa Thompson and Lashana Lynch from the first Captain Marvel movie.
It's not a huge surprise that Lynch is in The Marvels considering that Maria Rambeau could still appear in flashbacks but we're still loving the confirmation. Additionally, Thompson being part of the cast is intriguing since it could confirm fans will finally see some awesome interaction between Valkyrie and Captain Marvel.
Although it's great to know that Thompson and Lynch are part of the cast of The Marvels. However, it is important to point out that Disney and Marvel Studios have not yet confirmed that Valkyrie and Maria Rambeau will appear in the film. Stay tuned for updates on this story.
It will still be a long wait for Captain Marvel 2 but we're already looking forward to the MCU sequel. The Marvels is currently scheduled for release on February 17, 2023.
