The Mandalorian Season 3 has experienced several production delays this year but the folks over at Lucasfilm could be bracing themselves for the upcoming show's biggest setback yet. According to a report from Murphy's Multiverse, the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees is set to go on strike to guarantee crew members reasonable expenses and breaks. 60,000 film and television workers will are said to be affected by the strike and it will force some of the biggest production houses in Hollywood to shut shop for up to 90 days.
Initial rumors suggested that the strike will begin on Monday but the entertainment website notes that it could happen as early as this weekend. In effect, several ongoing productions from franchise giants like Lucasfilm, DC, and Marvel will be put on hold including The Mandalorian Season 3, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and Secret Invasion among others.
The report also notes that other big-budgeted projects like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor, Hawkeye, and Ms. Marvel aren't safe from the effects of the shutdown especially the ones that would require reshoots or are currently in their post-production process.

A 90-day shutdown is definitely no laughing matter because not only does it affect the release window of upcoming projects but more importantly, it will cost production houses millions of dollars. As it stands, we've yet to get updates regarding the matter but we'll make sure to keep you posted. Hopefully, there's a way to prevent the rumored shutdown but we'll have to wait and see.
If the shutdown does occur any day from now, it'll be hella frustrating for sure especially considering The Mandalorian Season 3 was originally expected to wrap up its production before Summer.
The Mandalorian's third season is expected to drop sometime in late 2022.
