The Mandalorian: Marvel Comics to Adapt First 8 Chapters of Star Wars Series

The Mandalorian is coming a lot sooner than expected! Marvel Comics has confirmed an eight-issue comic book series adaptation of the Star Wars show's first season, and it will be released this summer! has announced Marvel's The Mandalorian, an eight-issue adaptation of the Disney+ show's first season. The series will be written by Rodney Barnes and illustrated by Georges Jeanty. An episode will be adapted with each issue with several variant covers so fans can relive every chapter of Season 1.

The comic books are still in production but the outlet has already shared the cover art for Issue #1. The main cover was illustrated by Adi Granov and the issue will adapt Chapter One: The Mandalorian. Check it out below.

Barnes shared his excitement for being part of the comic book series adaptation. “The story of the Mandalorian checks so many boxes of the stuff I’m passionate about,” he said. “I love Westerns, fantasy, science fiction, comedy, drama…it’s a dream gig for any writer. I’m just glad I was chosen for this assignment!”

Jeanty also promised exciting things to look forward to in the comics. “My look has always been detail-oriented, and with The Mandalorian there is so much going on with the character and in the background, and I look forward to adding visually to the already rich tapestry that makes up this universe!” he said.

Marvel's The Mandalorian is expected to drop in June and would be a great way to prepare for the show's next season later this year. Although it has not yet been announced when Season 3 will premiere, the series is already expected to return to Disney+ by the end of the year. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
