The Mandalorian's Chapter 20 finally answered the biggest mystery surrounding Grogu and how exactly he was able to survive Order 66. Season 3's action-packed fourth episode reintroduced fans to Jedi Kelleran Beq, a character who made his debut appearance in Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge played by Jar Jar Binks voice actor Ahmed Best.

It was revealed that Beq was the one responsible for Baby Yoda's salvation and it instantly turned the actor from one of the most despised figures in Star Wars to a bonafide legend. You see, Best has been vilified by the fandom for literally decades because of his performance as Jar Jar but his upgraded character has removed the bitter taste the divisive Gungan left in their mouths.

Turns out, we can all thank one person for Ahmed's Star Wars resurgence and it's none other than showrunner Jon Favreau. Appearing for a special panel at PaleyFest in Los Angeles (via Digital LA) along with actors Pedro Pascal and Katee Sackhoff, as well as Dave Filoni and director Rick Famuyiwa, Favreau explained his decision to cast Ahmed Best in the show.

The Mandalorian creator simply said: "Part of what we like to do on this show is pull in from all of Star Wars".

Kelleran may have only appeared briefly in Chapter 20 but there's no denying that he left such a huge impact, so much so that fans were left clamoring for more. Now, we're not quite sure if the character will return given how The Mandalorian only has three episodes left but the positive reception Best's cameo generated is more than enough to warrant another cameo, potentially in his own Star Wars series even.

The sixth episode of The Mandalorian Season 3 will hit Disney+ tomorrow, April 5th.
