The Lion King TV Spot Features Mufasa Giving Simba An Important Reminder

The premiere of The Lion King is only a little over a month away and there is little doubt that fans are already excited to revisit the story of a young lion who somehow lost his path to destiny. However, the new teaser for the Jon Favreau film features Mufasa giving his son Simba a truly important reminder.

The teaser opens with the iconic scene where the young Simba is presented to the other animals. There's also an awesome scene where Mufasa leads two young cubs Simba and Nala as well as that amazing shot where little Simba places his paw inside his father's footstep.

Perhaps the best part of the new teaser is the shot of father and son looking over the horizon as Mufasa's voice booms out with a reminder: "Simba, you must remember who you are. The one true king."

It's a stunning moment that puts James Earl Jones' iconic voice to good use. Needless to say, the teaser has everyone excited for The Lion King.

The official description for The Lion King reads as follows:

"Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub's arrival. Scar, Mufasa's brother—and former heir to the throne—has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba's exile. With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his."

The Lion King hits theaters on July 19.
