The King’s Affection Episode 19 sees Lady So Eun breaking off the engagement with Ji Un. She realizes that a marriage with no mutual love will only hurt them both.
On the other hand, Prince Wonsan proves his ambitions to take the throne. He shows his worthiness to Lord Sangheon and suggests using him to his advantage.
Hwi proudly questions Lord Sangheon in front of the Queen Dowager. The truth about the royal twins was revealed, which signals a threat to Lord Sangheon and his authority.
Lord Sangheon found out about Commander Jung’s betrayal and ordered his death. Prince Wonsan also brings Hwi’s royal court lady and eunuch to Lord Sangheon.
Thankfully, Jil Geum reported the situation immediately to Hwi. The royal guards saved them, and Lord Sangheon was charged with the highest treason.
Hwi reveals the truth to the Queen Dowager and announces that she will abdicate the throne to Prince Jehyeon. Hwi also tells the Queen everything and suggests leaving the palace to start a new life.
