In The Honor Student at Magic High SchoolEpisode 2, Can I Join You, we see Shizuku Kitayama and Honoka Mitsui get accepted into First High. When Honoka laid eyes on Miyuki, he felt a really strong admiration for her and when they became friends, Honoka was overjoyed. Honoka looks up to Tatsuya for being an exceptional magician, however, he was already a Course 2 student.
As they were just Course 1 students, she wonders what difference do each course has. As Honoka and her friends got into a fight between students from different courses, despite knowing the school rules of using magic against another, Honoka used hers to stop the dispute.
