The first episode of The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated! was finally released over the weekend. It looks promising so far—not to mention a pretty relatable slice of life. For people who are just trying to live day by day and working hard to make ends meet, then this anime might be worth watching.
The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated! follows the story of Jahy—the Demon Realm's number two authority figure. She's feared and constantly surrounded by servants. One day, a magical girl destroys a powerful crystal in the Demon Realm—resulting in the realm's destruction.
Jahy then finds herself on Earth in the form of a small girl. She must now survive while trying to gather the crystal shards so she can restore the Demon Realm.

The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated! Episode 1 Recap
A smaller Jahy finds herself on Earth after the Demon Realm's destruction. Luckily, her powers aren't completely gone—she still has a piece of the mana crystal in her necklace. However, she can only return to her true form for a certain amount of time.
Since she needs money to be able to live, she uses her true form to work as a waitress. Struggling to make ends meet, Jahy is determined to bring the Demon Realm back. Unfortunately, trying to survive is becoming a hindrance.
While at work, Jahy's crystal necklace stops functioning earlier than usual and she returns to her small form. Her boss ends up seeing this, which led to Jahy telling her the truth. The boss seems unfazed by this and still accepts her without question.
Jahy's also struggling with things like rent. Her landlord is her boss' sister and it's revealed that Jahy was able to find an apartment because of her boss. Jahy and the landlord have a hate relationship, considering she doesn't like to pay rent.
Jahy's still adjusting to life on Earth. While she's annoyed that the tables have turned on her compared to her position in the Demon Realm, she's determined to work hard—whether at surviving or finding the shards.
