The Flash: Tom Cavanagh Teases Possible Return as Reverse-Flash in Final Season

We already know that The Flash Season 7 is the last season with Tom Cavanagh and Carlos Valdes as series regulars. But is there a chance that Harrison Wells will be back in the future? Cavanagh has just teased on his possible return as Reverse-Flash in the show's final season.

Cavanagh has been a series regular on The Flash although he has played several different characters with each season. For instance, it was revealed in the first season that Eobard Thawne aka Reverse-Flash had stolen Wells' identity and was using Barry Allen to help him get back to his own timeline.

So what are the chances we'll get to see this version of Wells again in the future? Cavanagh admitted to TVLine that he is hoping to revisit the character when Grant Gustin finally calls it quits.

Cavanagh revealed that he and Arrowverse executive producer Greg Berlanti have big plans for the final season of The Flash.

"I'm not saying that this is going to happen, but Greg and I always felt that when Grant decides to depart the show, it'd be hard to imagine a scenario other than ‘Batman comes home to Joker,' and Flash and Reverse-Flash settle things," he shared. "It'd be hard to imagine a different storyline — and that's all I'm going to say right now."

This is an interesting idea considering that The Flash started out with the conflict between Barry and Reverse-Flash. If the series ever comes to an end, a reunion between the two would be a fitting conclusion.

The Flash Season 7 airs on The CW every Tuesday night.
