The Flash Star Michael Keaton Shares Surprising Reaction to Putting on Batman Costume Again

It's no secret that getting into a superhero costume can be a pain. Most stars have stated that putting on a skintight outfit for the role is usually stressful and would claim it's their least favorite part of filming. However, Michael Keaton doesn't share their sentiments. The Flash star has just revealed that putting on the Batman costume was "shockingly normal" for him.

Keaton first donned the Batman cowl in the 1989 Tim Burton film. He would later reprise the role three years later in Batman Returns but would ultimately be replaced by Val Kilmer in Batman Forever.

It's been decades since he played the Dark Knight but Keaton revealed it wasn't so hard to get into character again for The Flash. In an interview with Jake's Takes, Keaton was asked what was going through his head when he put on the suit again and his response was awesome.

"It was shockingly normal. It was weird," Keaton said. He then pointed out that although it seemed uneventful at first, he would later feel nostalgic in his Batman cowl.

"Like I went 'Oh, oh yeah, that's right.' But also then you start to play the scenes and a lot of memories, a lot of interesting sense memories (start to come back)," Keaton stated.

It's great to know that Keaton didn't have a hard time putting on the Batsuit but it's also amazing to finally get confirmation that he is truly suiting up as Batman once again. There were speculations that Keaton's version of Bruce Wayne would have been retired and wouldn't be seen in the cowl. However, we now know that he will be swinging into action next year.

The Flash is directed by Andy Muschietti and stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen. The film will also feature Ben Affleck as another version of Batman but it is unclear if he will have scenes with Keaton in the movie.

The Flash hits theaters on November 4, 2022.
