Previously, Cavill was heavily rumored to be jumping ship to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with multiple sources even claiming that he'll be one of the actors appearing during Marvel Studios' D23 Expo 2022 presentation. Obviously, that wasn't the case and it only intensified speculation surrounding his rumored return to the DCEU.

It looks like Cavill has signed on for multiple projects and according to insider Grace Randolph, on top of Cavill's rumored appearance in Black Adam, Warner Bros. Discovery is reportedly bringing back the actor for The Flash. Randolph clarified that plans still call for Sasha Calle's Supergirl to appear in the film, as well as Michael Keaton's Batman so it'll be interesting how Cavill's Man of Steel would fit in.

This new report comes on the heels of a recent rumor claiming The Flash, along with Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom are being "retooled" to squeeze in a Superman cameo. Of course, it's still a little too early to rejoice but if Cavill's DCEU return is actually for real this time around, then it spells good news for fans who have been clamoring to see him back as Clark Kent.

This is also a clear indication that WB Discovery boss David Zaslav is truly committed to restoring order to the franchise.

The Flash is currently slated for release on June 23, 2023.
