The Flash Movie Writer Tells Fans What to Expect From Its New Director

Now that Ezra Miller's Flash has appeared in Crisis on Infinite Earths, fans are wondering when we're going to see the DCEU version of The Flash. It was really cool seeing Ezra's Flash again and we're all hoping that the movie is worth waiting for since numerous directors have left this project for one reason or another. Now that IT director Andy Muschietti has reportedly signed on, we're curious as to what he will bring to the table.

During a press junket for Birds of Prey, The Flash writer Christina Hodson was asked about how Muschietti and she had nothing but praise for the director. She brings up how IT might be a really creepy movie but the film also has a ton of heart since audiences get to learn about these characters and get invested in them.

Obviously, she's hoping he can do the same for The Flash and we're all hoping for that too. Here's what the writer told ComicBook.com:

"I think Andy's fantastic. What I loved about IT, The first one, in particular, is that he can do scary, he can do big genre stuff, but he can also do real heart. He can give those characters real emotional depth. And that's something that I would love to see in Flash."

Since we did see Ezra appear in Crisis, a lot of people are hoping that scene is canon with whatever happens in the DCEU version of The Flash. Considering how it's supposed to be based on Flashpoint, there's a very good chance that will happen.

Currently, The Flash is scheduled for a July 1, 2022 release.
