2022 may very well be the year for the Fastest Man Alive as Ezra Miller's long-awaited solo The Flash film is finally hitting theaters a few months from now. In case you weren't aware, the film is loosely based on the iconic Flashpoint storyline from the comics and will see Barry Allen travel across the DC multiverse. Despite all the hype the project has been generating the last couple of months, some fans couldn't help but feel concerned with the idea of Warner Bros. doing a Flashpoint adaptation this early in the game, especially considering it's Ezra's first standalone outing in the DC Extended Universe

Well, it turns out DC Comics has everyone covered as the film is getting a prequel comic book series ahead of its theatrical release. Titled The Flash: The Fastest Man Alive, the 3-part comic is set to take place following the events of Justice League as Barry is left without a choice but to embrace his newfound purpose and take the superhero life seriously. He turns to Ben Affleck's Batman for advice and the Dark Knight will take him under his wing to help him become a more skilled hero.

I think releasing a tie-in comic for The Flash is a great idea because it allows Muschietti and his team of writers to expand Barry's story without having to include everything in the film which in effect could make it a little too exhausting. It's also a great marketing strategy on DC's part because it forces the fandom to get ahold of the upcoming comic to understand what happens in the film itself.

The Flash is scheduled to hit cinemas in November.
