We all know for a fact that the DC Extended Universe has been struggling for years trying to find its right footing but it looks like all hope is gone for the once-promising superhero film franchise. Take for example the upcoming The Flash will which was originally intended for release later this year. The project's theatrical release was pushed back to 2023 despite the fact that director Andy Muschietti has actually completed filming it.

Now, while Warner Bros. and DC Films have never addressed the matter, it's quite obvious that the reason for its delay has a lot to do with actor Ezra Miller and his slew of personal troubles that have been making headlines over the last couple of months.

The 29-year-old star has been involved in several scandals this year — from harassing guests at a local bar in Hawaii to allegedly grooming an underaged girl in 2016. The actor can't seem to escape controversy and just recently, it was reported that he's housing three children on a farm with firearms and drugs.

Obviously, Ezra's personal issues aren't doing the actors any favors and if you were to ask the majority of the DCEU fandom, they think WB and DC Films should just shelve The Flash and start fresh without the actor.

It's worth noting that The Flash is set to be the project that will revamp the DCEU and by the looks of things, it could also very well eliminate Ezra from the equation. Personally, I'd rather see WB start with a clean slate than continue with the franchise because things have really gotten out of hand.

Meanwhile, The Flash is now scheduled for release on June 23, 2023.
