The Falcon And The Winter Soldier Writer Talks About The Series And Its Tone

It looks like Marvel is gearing up to produce the upcoming Disney+ series, Falcon and the Winter Soldier. The studio just recently tapped John Wick creator Derek Kolstad to help write the project and it looks like the screenwriter and producer is ready to get down to work on Marvel's new show.

Heading over to Twitter to take over Discussing Film's social media account, the writer decided to answer different fan questions about Falcon and the Winter Soldier, revealing what followers can expect from the series, including the show's tone.

According to Kolstad, he'd like to make sure that there's still some fun in the series despite the darkness that comes from a post-blip universe.

"In a post-blip world, while touching upon the darkness of it all, there's got to be some resilient fun to it," the screenwriter wrote in response to a fan.

In a different tweet, Kolstad also told followers that friendship would play a large role in the tone of the series, saying that there would be a Band of Brothers kind of feel to the series – unsurprising considering how Anthony Mackie's Falcon and Sebastian Stan's Winter Soldier are being made to team up together.

When asked by fans whether the writer would incorporate tonal elements of the John Wick franchise into the series, Kolstad couldn't say no.

"There's a wink and a nod to the world-building of John Wick to be sure. Just fewer headshots," the screenwriter responded in his post.

We really can't wait to see Falcon and the Winter Soldier to release. Sounds like Kolstad has a lot in store for us.

Falcon and Winter Soldier is expected to release in the Fall of 2020 on Disney+.
